A commenter who commented on one of our news reports on usandglobal.com this past week asked us in their comment how to unfollow a page as a page on Facebook to stop receiving the followed page’s (or followed pages’) posts in the News Feed of their own page.
Being a news website and news newsletter that publish news in the technology category as well (“Science and Technology” category to be exact), we feel sort of obligated to share how it is done for all those finding themselves unable to do it.
So, without further ado, there you go
To unfollow a page that you have followed as a page, simply:
Go to the News Feed of your page (left side under Manage Page while signed in to your Facebook account and on the main URL of your Facebook page, of course)
Move the cursor over the name or the icon of the page
Then click on the three dots at the bottom right of the menu that appears
Then click on “Follow settings”
On the menu that appears, scroll down if you have to to find at the bottom of that menu the option “Unfollow this Page.” Simply toggle it to right side to unfollow the page
Finally, click on “Update” and you are done!
If you want to unfollow a page as a page because you are seeing too many posts by that page in your page’s News Feed, you can do something about it without having to unfollow that page.
When on Step 5, you also see the options of “Favorites” (to see posts by this particular page higher up in your News Feed), “Default” (to see posts by this page in their usual order), “Snooze” (to stop seeing posts by this page for 30 days) and “Off” (to simply stop seeing any post by this page in your page’s News Feed). Simply select one of these options to achieve what you might actually want to achieve without having to unfollow your otherwise favorite page.
On Step 5, you will also see different options under Notifications. You can use one of them instead if that offers what you actually want.
